We were in the room. Here's what we brought back.
On Tuesday, May 19, we facilitated the first session of A TITAN Reckoning: Owning the Moment, a four-part series for TITAN Executive Network, a community of Black executive women navigating leadership, legacy, and what comes next. TITAN invited The After Chapter in to hold the conversation at the center of everything we do.
We walked into that room and asked the question this show was built around: Who are you when the title is gone?
We didn't expect how fast the room answered. Not with the polished version. The real one.
When asked to introduce themselves without professional or personal titles, attendees paused. It was harder than expected. What filled the silence were shared values: community, faith, integrity. A reminder that who we are is not what we do, and our worth is not tied to a performance review.
Within minutes, women were naming things out loud that most people spend years circling around. The recognition in that room was immediate and honest. The tension between who they were inside the title and who they are still figuring out how to be without it; that's not a small thing. That's the work.
What was also affirmed -- what happens in the podcast studio translates directly into real rooms with real people.
Three sessions remain. What we're learning inside them is shaping what Season 2 becomes. You'll be the first to know.

TITAN Series: A TITAN Reckoning
The Assessment is live

Quiet Signals started as a conversation inside the podcast: the idea that most people in transition don't miss the signals. They hear them. They just keep going. Transition doesn't create them. It makes them undeniable.
A signal is not a crisis. It's quieter than that. It's the thing you noticed, filed away, and kept moving. Most of us are very good at that. But signals accumulate. Professionally, they show up in how you're being treated and what's being taken from you without a conversation. Personally, they show up in how you feel about yourself, what you've stopped reaching for, who you've stopped being when no one needs anything from you.
We built an assessment around that. Not a personality quiz. Something closer to a reckoning, designed to surface what's already there but hasn't been named yet.
It takes about 10 minutes. We want to hear what it brings up for you.
What The After Chapter actually is
The podcast is one part of it.
We built this to move in multiple directions. The show is where the conversation lives publicly. But The After Chapter is also in rooms, on stages, and at tables. Speaking engagements. Panel moderation. Workshop facilitation, which is what brought us to TITAN on Tuesday.
We also work with organizations that want to retain and develop their most experienced women, moving ERGs past networking and imposter syndrome programming into conversations about what sustains a career long term. So, when succession planning happens, those women are still there and still invested.
The question underneath all of it is the same: What happens when you stop performing strength? We carry it wherever the work takes us. The Pour is where we bring it back to you.

About the summer episodes
Most podcasts slowdown in summer. We're not slowing down. We're going narrower.

The summer episodes are shorter by design. One topic. One thread pulled all the way through. No guests, just the two of us, and the questions we haven't finished answering yet. If Season 1 was about unraveling and Season 2 is about reconstruction, summer is the honest work that happens between the two. The part nobody talks about because it doesn't make a clean story yet.
What we're sitting with right now: the cost of waiting to feel ready. The difference between reinvention and repackaging. What it actually looks like to lead with a value that was never rewarded.
These aren't topics we're assigning ourselves. They're what's still unresolved from the conversations that started this season. We figured that was worth something.
Season 2, The Reconstruction, launches September 8.
If you haven't listened yet
Season 1, The Unraveling, is twelve episodes about who you are when the roles fall away. You can start there or go directly into the summer episodes. Whatever suits you best.
